A passion for God and His Word

The Law of Conscience

It would appear that the most fundamental difference and distinction which contrasts man with all other species of animals is the faculty of complex reason and, particularly, conscience. As the character Hamlet stated in Shakespeare’s famous play:

“What is a man, if his chief good and market of his time be but to sleep and feed? a beast, no more. Sure, he that made us with such large discourse, Looking before and after, gave us not that capability and god-like reason to fust [mold or decay] in us unused.” Hamlet: Act IV Scene IV

WILL ISRAEL BE “DRIVEN INTO THE SEA”?

Who owns the land of Israel? Arab or Jew? Is it Israel or is it Palestine? These questions have been debated for many years in the Middle East as the land changed hands many times. But today this question is more hotly debated than at any other time, as both Palestinians and Israelis lay claim to the land.

Israel maintains that the land is hers on several counts: the fact that the U.N. allotted her the land; that she rightfully purchased the land, parcel by parcel; that she won the land in wars to maintain her existence, and that God, from days of old promised her the land and has now given it to her.

What is Truth?

When it comes to the question “What is truth?” we must keep in mind that without the perception of intelligent beings truth is of little consequence. The universe would exist for no one and whatever happened would merely affect matter. We would be inclined to say that the very notion of the existence of inanimate matter would be irrelevant without intelligent existence. King David expressed this thought: “What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?” Psalm 30: 9
